PREMIUM PRODUCT FROM A PREMIUM PARTNER
Producing a premium product starts with quality ingredients, which is why we are proud to partner with Premium Game Ltd as our sole supplier of 100% wild game meats.
Harvested and processed in the most natural way, ‘NOTHING BUT NATURE’ is their company strap-line, which puts their philosophy and process in a straight line with ours, and quite frankly we couldn’t do what we do without them!
They have a team of registered hunters working across the South Island, they can provide full provenance of product and their nose to tail philosophy means that every part of every animal is put to good use.
“Brothers Darren & Nick are passionate hunter-gatherers who understand the negative impact growing numbers of Wild Game animals have on New Zealand’s native habitats. They share a vision of delivering ‘field to plate’ food experiences that show respect to the animals by treating them as a valuable food resource – a healthy alternative to mainstream meat which they believe all consumers should have access too”
Venture to the wild side and add a bit of variety to your diet with some premium wild game – head to their online store HERE to check out their range of wild meats available for delivery to your door.
WHY WE ARE PASSIONATE ABOUT A WILD MEAT DIET
We’re keen to encourage more people to enjoy the flavour, nutritional and environmental benefits of wild game. Why you may ask. Well, two reasons really, it’s good for you and its good for the environment.
GOOD FOR YOU. Wild animals are lean animals. The reason they are leaner is due to their active lifestyle. They roam freely in nature and eat a varied natural and nutritious diet.
Wild venison, for example, is lower in fat than skinless chicken (The total saturated fat component of venison is less 1/3 of beef and lamb). It is higher in iron and protein than beef and lamb, and is considered to be one of the best dietary sources of iron, and a complete protein as it contains all 10 of the essential amino acids. It is a great source of vitamin B2, B3, B6 and B12, and has an ideal ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids.
GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. Harvesting wild animals offers protection for our native environments and countrysides. It keeps animal numbers in check and minimises the damage caused by their selective eating patterns. Wild deer have no natural predators and wild rabbits (according to MPI) ‘have been a constant source of trouble for New Zealand since they were first introduced in the 1830s’ !
By choosing wild game you also reduce your carbon footprint and ease reliance on industrial scale farming.
Eating wild game is not only a highly nutritious flavourful experience, it is an eco-friendly and sustainable source of food.
